Provides a good visual readout of your launcher. I just started working on making my own starter and this was the first jar I purchased. I liked the idea of the cloth hat and the long, thin spatula. The moving band allows you to easily place a marker on the jar to know where the starter was before feeding, making it easy to know when it's ready to use. That being said, there are a few things I didn't like about this bottle. For one thing, he is tall and thin. As my starter grew and calmed down, I found that I ended up with a dry starter on the inside of the jar. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to stop that from happening. Maybe it's simply a function of how launchers work and I'm new to the process. I ended up buying a shorter bottle. Again, I am by no means a sourdough expert, I'm just getting my feet wet in this craft, so take my information with a grain of salt. I love my Mason jars, so I will definitely put them to good use in my home!

April 26, 2024It works well. I just started my journey as a sourdough starter. I like this one, it has the temperature strips to put in the jars. They work well for checking the temperature. I also like the erasable marker to mark the starter motor level.

April 23, 2024Sourdough Starter Jar Kit I love using this jar as a starter. The temperature gauge works well. The band with days and times is great! Much better than the elastic band I had been using. The spatula is ideal for cleaning the starter motor. I would definitely order another one of these and have suggested it to others.

April 20, 2024Good to Start Reviewing TINANA Sourdough Jar Kit 1000ml Wide Mouth Sourdough Jar with Scraper Thermometer Cloth Cover and Aluminum Lid Sourdough Container for Sourdough Bread Baking Materials Since I am completely new to sourdough starter and wanted to experiment with gluten-free bread, being able to have a kit that came with everything I needed to take measurements (except a digital scale, which I already have), was very important. It has been easy to use and any hiccups have been purely user error/learning curve. The aluminum lid came slightly bent and didn't fit, which was fine for me since I try to avoid aluminum with food products. The cloth cover is nice and snug and does what I need it to do.
